I have had this blog for the past 5 years. I have had at least 750,000 vistors and thousands of emails from across the globe asking for travel advice on Tibet. Since the Yushu Earthquake in April 2010, I have been quite busy and haven't had as much time as I would have liked to post on this site. After the earthquake, I spend considerable time helping with the relief, both in Jyekundo and in Xining. I have also traveled extensively covering nearly 100,000 kilometers overland the past 20 months. I have also done traveling throughout other parts of Asia including Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Nepal, Bangladesh and India.
This will be my final post on this site. I am building a new website which will replace this site and the other site I maintain, landofsnows.com. I hope to have my new site up and running shortly after the new year. It will be similar to this site, but I hope to have more detailed information about Tibet including itineraries, treks, personal stories...just about anything anyone could possibly want to know about traveling in Tibet.
